What a wonderful Gala Day!We had it all this year, including the weather! 16 teams competed in a fabulous round robin that had hearts racing , mums and dads cheering and referees trying to keep up. The football was beaut, the sportsmanship was outstanding and the day was a fantastic success. Congratulations to all participants and many, many thanks to our terrific volunteers, our cadets and canteen people. (And a special thank you to whoever was responsible for the fine weather! :-) It was appreciated!
Our annual Booth’s Motor Group East Gosford Rams fundraising golf day was a smashing success yet again. With the almost perfect weather, excellent company and stacks of prizes, everyone enjoyed the day. Lots of hungry golfers returned to Ram’s HQ to get stuck into some burgers for lunch and enjoy the presentation and raffle.. We also enjoyed hosting our first ladies team who gave it a good shake. Winners this year were visitors Mick, Matt and Wazza. Well done boys!
Three local sports ovals set for $410k worth of upgrades. Gosford City Council and Central Coast Football will spend $410,000 over the next two years to improve the playing surfaces at three major, local sports ovals. Council has agreed to match the $205,000 commitment by Central Coast Football to upgrade the drainage systems at James Browne Oval in Woy Woy, Hylton Moore Park in East Gosford and Gavenlock Oval in Narara. Gosford City Mayor Lawrie McKinna said it was very pleasing to see Council teaming up with Central Coast Football again to deliver better recreational and sporting facilities."Just like we did at Kincumber's Frost Reserve last year, our staff and Central Coast Football will work closely together over the next two years to install new drainage systems at these three popular ovals," Mayor McKinna said. "At this stage, we anticipate that the upgrades at James Browne Oval and Hylton Moore Park could be completed by the end of next summer. "Work at Gavenlock Oval should be finished by the end of summer in 2017. "Not only will players notice a big improvement to the playing surfaces, but the new drainage systems will also mean players are back on the grounds quicker after wet weather. "I'm very proud that Council will match Central Coast Football's tremendous commitment of $205,000 towards these upgrades, which will especially benefit the football community here on the Central Coast," he said. Central Coast Football's General Manager Darren Sprod said he was excited by the opportunity to partner with Gosford City Council to invest in more local playing fields. "Our sport continues to grow and it is important that we work with Council to deliver better playing surfaces across the region," Mr Sprod said. "The $205,000 we are providing is not only a vital investment in the community's recreational facilities, but will also support the thousands of locals that play football on weekends by ensuring less down time during the wet winter months. "I would like to thank Council for its vision with these upgrades as well as working collaboratively to help our sport," he said.

Brilliant!Out of a possible 15 points from 5 games across men’s and women’s premier league this week we took the lot! The goal difference was a very impressive 22 for and 2 against. Rams HQ was a happy hunting ground as both the boys and girls triumphed over Wyoming.Pretty good form and loads of determination from the boys was the recipe for a well deserved win to finally open our account. That Wyoming who are in 4th position on the ladder were our opponents sweetened the deal. Thirds and Reserves set the bar high after big wins but 1st grade were up to the challenge and delivered the goodsThe girls were not going to be outdone either and despite a depleted line up they dug deep and turned up the heat. Wyoming fought hard but there was no way they were going to take this one away from us.
Over 100 turned up for our Kid’s Disco and everyone had a ball (disco actually) DJ Phabulous Phil was in fine form and had the kids rocking to the tunes provided by Matt Pook.
Our annual Kate McCartin Memorial Day was another great success with in excess of $1,000.00 being raised for the Oncology Ward at Gosford Hospital. The girls took on a very determined Woongarrah who put in a spirited performance and kept us to a 2-2 draw. Thanks girls, it was a great game played in a great spirit.
